Detox? Why Should I?

Recently, Time Magazine published an article stating that detoxification is unnecessary and not helpful. I strongly differ with Time based on the following considerations: In 1989, over 6 trillion pounds of chemical toxins were dumped in North America in one year, alone. Can you imagine what havoc we have wreaked on this planet over several decades? 100% of adults today have synthetic and industrial chemicals like dioxins (bleach) and PCB’s stored in our bodies. Heavy toxins like lead, cadmium, mercury and arsenic, pesticides, pollutants, pharmaceuticals, plastics and food additives are being dumped into our rivers and streams daily, and carried by air currents around the globe. Polar bears are dying from eating seals with toxins in their fat. A recent televised news report stated that “the tissues of the Inuit peoples of Greenland are classified as toxic waste.” Your body is divinely designed to keep surviving as long as your spirit needs to be here and will do whatever it can within its design to handle stress and keep you surviving. With such toxic overload, your body must store what it cannot get rid of that will cause you harm and death if allowed to be assimilated. So, where does the body store toxins? In your fat cells, just like little storage sheds. Your body is protecting you by building those fat cells around your middle that you can’t seem to get rid of. You know — the flat tire that hangs over your belt even though you have tried every diet aide and get-slim-quick trick in the book. Wisely, your body will not dump fat cells unless you...

Are You Eating the Right Oils?

Almost everyone who comes to my office are not eating enough fats. This is because back in the 70’s we were sold a myth about “saturated fats and heart disease” and there is much confusion. Nowadays, finally, people are coming to see the light about the value of consuming healthy fats. However, there are still oils on the shelves and in ingredients that are not fit for human consumption. Here they are with just a brief explanation for you might want to steer clear of these oils when purchasing for your kitchen and when eating out. 1. Canola Oil – Originally rape oil, the name was changed to canola because it sounds nicer and there was a reputation to overcome. Rape oil is the source of mustard gas used in chemical warfare. It is implicated in the mad cow disease of the 80’s and 90’s. Rape oil contains cyanide forming compounds and glycosides which are found in rattlesnake venom. 90% of the Canadian crop of rapeseed is genetically modified by Monsanto and industrially processed to make soaps candles, lipsticks, lubricants and insecticides. The processing involves high heat and bleaching. Often found in “healthy” labeled products, this product is linked to muscular disorders and fatty degeneration of the heart, kidneys, adrenals and thyroid gland. No wonder animals and insects avoid it. 2. Cottonseed oil – The cotton plant is not grown as an edible food crop and therefore is heavily treated with poisonous pesticides. Most cotton crops are genetically modified. Cottonseed oil is too high in omega 6, and has a similar protein structure to peanuts so if you are...
